The association Comunidad Esperanza (“community of hope” in English) is constituted as a legal entity with social, cultural and educational projections, which aims to promote the integral development of its beneficiaries, with strict observance of peace, public order, morality and respect for human rights (Cfr. Art. 1 Statutes and Articles of Incorporation).
We work hard to offer them a safe environment favorable to their physical, emotional and educational development. Through programs and activities designed especially for their needs, we seek to provide them with tools to build a more hopeful and promising future. Our work focuses on empowering these children and young people, providing them with the skills and resources that will enable them to break the cycle of poverty and reach their full potential.
We are a non-profit organization committed to the welfare of children in vulnerable situations in the peri-urban areas of the city of Cobán, Guatemala, specifically in 4 disadvantaged neighborhoods: Esfuerzo 1, Esfuerzo 2, Nueva Esperanza and Sachamach.
The Integral Education Center of our school provides attention to more than 405 boys and girls, whose ages range from 6 to 19 years old.
In our school, we have a canteen dedicated to providing more than 15,000 free meals per year.
At Comunidad de la Esperanza, we are proud to offer high quality healthcare facilities to serve the needs of our community.
We have a social area committed to providing services to the parents of our students and those in need.
At Comunidad de la Esperanza, the common denominator of most of our beneficiaries is exposure to risk due to poverty, family breakdown, social violence and lack of opportunities. We provide special support to the working children of the municipal garbage dump.
We are a private non-profit institution that supports socially vulnerable population in the peri-urban areas of the city of Cobán, Guatemala.

Dignify the living conditions of socially vulnerable communities through assistance processes.
By 2025 we will be a solid institution in the promotion of integral human development of socially vulnerable populations in Guatemala.
